The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is patting itself on the back for the 20th anniversary of the Dallas Charter.

But, as Church Militant’s Aidan O’Connor notes, the USCCB won’t talk about the real problem.

The USCCB is celebrating its “continued commitment to vigilance in protecting children and the vulnerable.”

The statement was made by Bp. James Johnston Jr. as chairman of the Committee on the Protection of Children & Young People.

The bishop called the 2002 Dallas Charter “a resource for the creation and implementation of child-protection policies and safe environment programs.”

The Charter was the bishops’ response to the Boston Globe’s 2002 Spotlight investigations, which uncovered decades of ongoing clerical sex abuse cover-ups.

The USCCB however, has consistently refused to address its own numbers, which reveal more than 80% of abuse cases were homosexual in nature.

Dr. Paul Sullins, Catholic priest and sociologist: “The incidence of sex abuse overall is due in large part to the increasing concentration of homosexual men in the Catholic priesthood.”

Dr. Sullins’ 2018 report revealed “the abuse of boys is very strongly related to the share of homosexual men in the priesthood.”

It further noted, “By the 1980s, homosexual men made up over 16% of the presbyterate … over eight times that of the general population.”

And evidence is mounting that the percentage of homosexual clerics in the priesthood is increasing.

A 2012 psychological study of active or retired U.S. priests revealed 67.3% self-identified as homosexual and 5.8% reported being bisexual.

Serial sodomite predator ex-cardinal Theodore McCarrick orchestrated the Dallas Charter, which left the bishops to police themselves.

It’s likely many of the bishops at the 2002 Dallas meeting knew McCarrick abused seminarians and young priests but did nothing about it.
