On every level of Church governance, the archdiocese of St. Louis is pushing the Left’s COVID messaging. Church Militant’s Kristine Christlieb has more evidence Abp. Mitchell Rozanski is fully on board with the jab.
The archdiocese will never be able to say it didn’t know promoting the COVID vaccine might be a problem.
When the state’s largest parish, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Cottleville, announced it was sponsoring a vaccine clinic, concerned Catholics were ignored.
Atty. Ken Battis, liability expert:
I really don’t understand why a Catholic parish would want to take that risk of inserting themselves into that distribution chain, and potentially being somebody who doesn’t have immunity from suit, somebody who could allege, “I was harmed” or “Something happened because I got the shot at a Catholic parish.”
But one parishioner’s vax agenda prevailed.
Lynne Baird, a St. Charles County Health Department contact tracer, emailed the parish pastor, Msgr. James Callahan, offering “the opportunity for us to bring COVID-19 vaccinations to the parish.”
Two days later, Callahan had secured Abp. Rozanski’s approval, promising Baird: “Members of my staff will be working on a communication to publicize this event.”
With regard to religious exemptions from vaccine mandates, Rozanski instructed his priests and deacons: “Requests for religious exemptions for the COVID-19 vaccine should not be granted at the parish level.”
Under Rozanski’s leadership, the archdiocese is pushing the vaccine but refusing to support parishioners who have conscientious objections to the experimental, abortion-tainted vaccine.
County health documents confirm 65 Pfizer vaccinations were administered at the two-Sunday event.
