Texas Right to Life rallied pro-lifers from across the state on Jan. 23 for its eighth annual Boots on the Ground Conference.
The weekend event witnessed speakers providing knowledge, personal testimony and motivation. Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, drove home the message:
We can do all these amazing things in politics over here but if we lose this generation, if we lose our generation, then everything that we fight for now, everything we donate, all the doors we knock, all the voters we call and text message, all of that will be for nothing. So we have to win our culture.
The culminating goal for the conference was to empower attendees to go out and “save the tiny Texans!”
Saint John Paul II Life Center co-sponsored the event and was represented by Elyssa Ramirez. Ramirez states: “We are a free pregnancy center. We do help for abortion-vulnerable women. We give them free medical care. We offer free pregnancy tests, free sonograms and we have real, professional, medical doctors that are in-house.”
And so, just trying to do God’s work, here in Austin, and just blessing one woman at a time, saving two lives, and not just the baby, but the mother as well. We’re making a small impact and so we ask that if you know someone that is very vulnerable to abortion, just bring her over.
In between talks, the group caravaned and rallied their support in front of the state capitol where legislators are in session. For many, their faith is what guides them, with one woman saying, “Never, ever, would my Jesus tell me, ‘Oh my daughter, you got raped, go abort your child,’ or, ‘Oh my daughter, you cannot afford your child, go and abort him.'” She continued, “If you’re a Christian and you are pro-abortion, I don’t know what kind of Christian you are.”
The Biden administration has re-engaged the wholesale slaughter of innocents. Could the 87th legislative session here in Texas’ capitol change all that?
